3 children die in B.C. cabin fire “CBC Reporting”

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:23 am

Check this out. On CBC’s website today there is a tragic story of 3 children who dies in a cabin fire check out the second paragraph. I know that I am doing the same as CBC by posting the info however I think what I am trying to show here would not be as effective if I edited them out. It’s unbelievable that they would do this. Where are their morals and we as a country and tax dollars support them. ARE YOU SERIOUS CANADA!

“An early-morning fire Thursday destroyed this cabin in the B.C. community of Eagle Bay in southeastern British Columbia, killing three children. (Brian Bannister)A family vacation in British Columbia has ended in tragedy as three children died in a cabin fire early Thursday in the Shuswap Lake area of Salmon Arm.

While the family has requested the ages and genders of the children not be released, reports indicate the three victims were a 14-year-old male, his 10-year-old sister and a 14-year-old female cousin.

The children had asked to spend the night in the cabin at the back of the property, which is in the community of Eagle Bay, while their parents slept in the main house off the lake, said Jack Blair, fire services co-ordinator for the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.

Firefighters were called at about 2 a.m. PT, but the flames were already too intense at that time and spread quickly to nearby trees and brush, Blair said.

“It was very apparent to anyone that would have been on scene that there would be no possible way for anyone to survive that fire,” Blair said.

Neighbour Darlene Clough said she rushed outside after her nephew banged on her door to alert her about the fire.

“There were huge flames which appeared to be right close to our place that were about 150 to 200 feet high,” Clough said.

She said her husband joined volunteer firefighters to battle the blaze.

One of the parents suffered minor injuries while trying to rescue the children, said police.

RCMP and officials from the provincial coroner’s office were investigating at the scene on Thursday. Officials don’t know how the fire started.”

AIG chief in hot seat over bonus payouts

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:39 am

“The CEO for insurance giant AIG is set to be raked over the coals in Washington on Wednesday, tasked with explaining to Congress how the firm paid out more than $165 million US in bonuses to executives despite receiving billions in federal bailout money.”

What drives me crazy is that the CEO’s claim to their employees that they need to turn huge profits for the “shareholders” Everything if for their shareholders if you ask them. I wonder how much each share would go up if these huge bonus were divided between each share!

February jobless rate rises to 7.7% OMG!! What will we do?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:24 am

Even at 7.7%, the unemployment rate is still near historic lows. Between 1976 and 2000, the rate was always above 7%, peaking at 11-12%!

The Americans love Doom and Gloom news and we are seeing it here in Canada. Drives me freakin crazy!

Auto Sector in Canada

I would like to start off by saying I believe that unions are generally good and I support them even though I am not a member of any union. HOWEVER, when a union like CAW is trying to keep dead horses alive there becomes a time to say enough is enough. Don’t blame the government or the people of Canada. The only people that should be blamed are the CEO’s/COO’s of these companies. They take these huge bonuses of millions of dollars a year and they can’t even do their jobs! I can’t believe that they can’t figure out what’s wrong.

Let me break it down for you Mr CEO. Go buy yourself a Toyota Camry. Take it to your factory and take it apart piece by piece. Then inspect each piece and compare it to your comparable piece. Then start to make each part of you vehicles with the same quality parts as Toyota.

Second follow the same pay structures as Toyota in their plants.

The average Cambridge ON Employee at the Toyota plant makes $40,588 before overtime.
The average Oshawa ON Employee at the GM plant makes $74,729 before overtime.
The average Oakville ON Employee as the Ford plant makes $86,476 before overtime.

Da Bloc

Here is a thought. Why is Canada required to have both French and English on everything but when I visited the bloc’s website only the news was available in English the rest was not. Should we pave Quebec? It would serve a better purpose if it was.
